This important study reviews legislation, policy actions, and policy-oriented studies. It shows that government decisions on carbon capture are largely driven by the question of commercial viability. Public policy decisions are being finance-driven , not science-driven. Furthermore, there is no viable market for CO2 “use” except to flush more oil out of the ground, which makes the climate emergency worse.

For the foreseeable future, the only significant use for CO2 will be to recover oil from depleted oil fields. This is a collection of data and calculations related to EOR.
